Pattengill Elementary School ~ 4th Grade ~ Mrs. Burns & Mrs. Chute
Inspired by a plastic elephant
from the Magic Suitcase

The Elephant

One day I saw an elephant with wrinkly gray skin.
He wore a shiny hat that was made of tin.
He looked so huge from his tusk to his tail
as he ate all day from his snacking pail.
Only cartoon elephants are afraid of mice
becasue they are afraid of catching lice.
He was cooling himself with his big, floppy ears
as he watched TV all through the years.

Here is a poem submitted by
Andy H. of Mrs. Burns' class.

Dan is the man.
He likes Peterpan.
He is in a band
and he likes to kick cans.
He knows lots of strong men
He likes to feed hens.
His bestfriend is named Ben.
Dan kicked Ben and Ben died,
so dan ran to ride his big two wheeler.
Dan addmitted that he liked a cool cheerleader.
