Pattengill Elementary School ~ 5th Grade ~ Mr. McKelvey
Inspired by a strange red character from the Magic Suitcase

Who's Max?

It looks like a pepper on top of his head.
It might be a Misfit who's wearing red.
Could it be a cartoon cake with arms and legs?
Could it ever come to you -- on it's knees and beg?
Is it a bar of soap with a gasoline pump?
Does it run around with a thump, thump, thump?
Could it be a hammer or maybe an ax?
Then it came and told me that its name is MAX!

This is a poem by Jessie, a 5th Grader from Mr. McKelvey's class.

There is a man named Dan.
He has a pan.
One day he and the pan were walking down the street
and he saw one of his friends named Pete.
They loved to eat.
As a matter of fact, they really liked meat.
As they were walking, Pete died,
so Dan went to hide!
