Mr. Schrupp's Second Grade Class ~ March 15, 2001
The Bakery Shop Baker
by Denise Rodgers

Forget about roosters. I'm up before dawn.
I turn all the ovens and every light on.
I stir up some batter and tap in the yeast.
I pour into pans freshly washed, dried and greased.
While bread dough is rising, i pull out some bowls
and mix and I stir to make sesame-seed rolls.
When morning time comes, there are tead rolls and muffins
and wheat breadsand white breads all fresh from my ovens.
It's true, I'm an excellent loaf and roll maker.
Don't call me a chef — I'm a bakery shop baker.
